DNF and probably never willThere is a puzzle in The Hare in the Hat wherein you switch pieces of a puzzle around on a board made of switches which control sets of four pieces that intersect with a neighbouring switch and four attached pieces and so on (12 switches in total iirc). You shuffle around the pieces until all pieces slot into place. It is ridiculously time consuming. It's not a 'puzzle' per se, more like a thing we can all see what the solution is from the moment we first lay eyes on it, but getting the thing to all line up is ridiculously difficult and not fun. It's absolutely not a puzzle as there is nothing to figure out. The problem is that if you cannot complete the puzzle the game cannot be progresed through. This 'puzzle' took me 4 tries. The last attempt was successful but took 88 minutes - on just the one puzzle, using extreme help (two people plus video walkthroughs and a Steam thread with a mathematical formula). I've logged over 6 hours in this game - most of that was for that one puzzle.This is one of those games where to 'solve' the 'puzzles' you have to telepathically figure out what the dev was thinking at the moment they were making the game, theres nothing about deduction or logic here. Not fun. It looks good and runs smoothly but that's about it for the positives. And theres a 'skip puzzle' button, but using it will disable achievements (you get a huge warning first). I don't think I've ever played a puzzle game where you can't skip or get a hint.This will be the first game I give a thumbs down to. Don't buy this. Not even on sale. Not unless you hate yourself.Don't get me wrong. In my spare time I like to do extremely boring things like calculate orbital trajectories and escape velocitites for other planets and asteroids. I have a huge collection of very expensive wooden mastercrafted puzzles and brain teasers. I love a challenge and I can math pretty well. Hare in the Hat honestly feels like the dev took a bunch of puzzle formats and set them to 'lets just make it as near impossible as is possible'.My rating: not worth the hair the hare sheds in that there cage it's trapped in.. this is a puzzle game not hidden object very short very simplistic
